Ponta Grossa, Paraná, BR – February 3, 2024 – Transcend Horizons, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting trans women and sex workers, invites the community to a vibrant charity event on March 2, 2024, featuring lip-sync performances of beloved Brazilian hits by Adriana Calcanhotto, Marisa Monte, and more. This one-of-a-kind event will take place at the Ponta Grossa Community Centre Ballroom, generously provided free of charge.

Five talented trans drag performers, Ariane Souza, Dayane Bloch, Alinne Barboza, Katya Salva, and Selina Paola, will bring the house down with stunning performances rooted in drag culture but with a special twist: a repertoire showcasing the richness of Brazilian music.

Tickets are priced at 50 reais, which includes two drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic, as preferred). Doors open at 7 PM, and all proceeds will benefit Transcend Horizons, supporting their ongoing mission to empower marginalized communities and provide transformative opportunities.

Supporting Transcend Horizons: Empowering Trans Women and Sex Workers

Founded 16 years ago, Transcend Horizons is committed to providing safe spaces, skills training, and critical support to trans women and sex workers striving to rebuild their lives. Their programs include nail care, makeup artistry, and a new hairdressing course launching this March, offering participants the tools needed to achieve professional and financial independence.

Beyond skills training, the organization also operates as a halfway house, offering temporary shelter, healthcare services (including STD testing and access to contraception), and job placement assistance.

“This event is more than entertainment; it’s a celebration of resilience, art, and community,” says Deborah Mayer, President of Transcend Horizons. “Our performers are not just showcasing their talent, they’re inspiring others while helping us raise funds to continue transforming lives.”
